The hotel village “Il Crocicchio” is an ancient Tuscan farm house, whose origins date back to the 10th century.
The blooming hills of Chianti Fiorentino on the west side and Pratomagno mountain on the east side with the renowned Vallombrosa forest and abbey represent the background of the Villa.
Its uses changed during the years: it was erected as home-fortress, then during the centuries it was transformed into a cloister, and it seems that during the 15th century, Niccolò Macchiavelli used it as one of his residences where he drew inspiration.
After being used as colonial house in the last one hundred and fifty years, it was wisely restored by the owner who, thanks to his meticulous and attentive care, was able to preserve the original features in Romantic style, without omitting to add all those comforts in order to offer a relaxing stay in the Tuscan countryside to the guests.
The villa offers the possibility to plunge in the ancient rural and genuine Tuscany of the past; its elegant facades, the semi-circular arches in ancient bricks, the marvellous courtyard and the sober taste of each detail are perfectly integrated with the surrounding natural environment.
Vineyards, olive groves and imposing century-old walnut trees are the setting of a rural area, wisely equipped with swimming pool and children’s playground.
The ideal place for an unforgettable, intimate holiday in the blooming Tuscan panorama or for a refined rustic wedding.
The marvellous setting also makes Villa Il Crocicchio ideal for shooting films or spots.
